Lake Scaffaiolo

Lake Scaffaiolo, at an altitude of 1775 m.s.l., is just few minutes away from the summit of mount Cupolino.

It's a perched lake, it has no tributaries nor effluents. It contains only rain water and water coming from melted snows. Frequent fog helps the lake not evaporate.

Few meters away from Lake Scaffaiolo you'll find the Duca Degli Abruzzi Hut (the oldest on the northern Apennine) .

In the lake there are no fishes nor woods in the outskirts.
